Eleven women, one village.

Eleven of us women came together in a mountain village, Fyteia, with a shared aim: personal and collective growth through making high-quality traditional and contemporary food products and handicrafts.

Our aim is to create the conditions for us to stay and work in our village, and to contribute, in a sustainable and gentle way, to the economic and cultural development of our community and its people.

Fyteia

Water, plane trees and chestnuts.

Fyteia is a mountain village at 540 metres on the slopes of Mount Vermio, 13 kilometres from Veria and 15 from Naoussa. It used to be called Tsernovo.

In Trano Pigadi, a place of rare natural beauty, the river runs between plane trees. There the Cultural and Educational Association of Fyteia holds the Festival of Traditional Products and Chestnuts, with roast chestnuts, live music and the stalls of local producers.

At midnight on 23 December, Fyteia burns cedar branches: the «Kedara», a custom added in 2025 to the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
