6th Festival of Traditional Products and Chestnuts
In Trano Pigadi, Fyteia, with petimezi spoon sweet, revani, hilopites and chutneys on our stall.
On 13 October, the Cultural and Educational Association of Fyteia organised the 6th Festival of Traditional Products and Chestnuts in Trano Pigadi, Fyteia, a place of rare natural beauty crossed by a river, with running water, plane trees and lush greenery. The day was warm and sunny, and the autumn colours were unique.
Our social cooperative took part with our products, along with other local producers and home-based makers.
Jams and spoon sweets – topped by our local pumpkin sweet simmered in grape must, known as petimezi spoon sweet – homemade Veria revani, hilopites, sauces, chestnut spoon sweet, tomato confit, fig, pepper and pomegranate chutneys, pickles and much more were on our cooperative's «stall». Nuts, handicrafts, honey, fruit and all the produce of the area that nature so generously gives us!
The Cultural and Educational Association of Fyteia offered roast chestnuts to our visitors, who danced to live music, ate meat grilled over charcoal and enjoyed the sunny day while doing their shopping.
